Work wear doesn't have to be boring.  Professional yes, but dive into some color and patterns!  A classic work wear piece is a pencil skirt.  If you choose the right one, you can even spice it up for a day to night look when you have an after work date.  Another staple piece is a button down blouse or oxford.  I like the structure of an oxford which works well under a sweater as well.  Banana Republic has some beautiful tapered shirts that give a beautiful shape.  When it comes to heels at work, I choose a 3 1/2" heel or less.  I work in HR at a company with a 30 acre campus.  Days when I have interviews I have a lot of walking to do.  4" heels are not in the cards!  I'm completely in love with these JSP heels, they are a perfect height!
