We had a crazy busy weekend.  A dinner with the gang (a group of old friends), birthday party, swimming, shopping, lunch out with family, on and on!  BUT it was fantastic... except for the weather.  I'm so ready for summer and it was a rainy, dreary weekend.  Thank goodness we had a lot to keep us busy.  These pictures are once again under the porch of our house because it was drizzling during our photo shoot.  Come on!  Doesn't God know I need to take pictures today?  I do love rainy days, when on a day when I can curl up and watch a movie with my nuggets.

Your Children are Like Little Mirrors

Having children is like putting a mirror in front of your face that shows you all your faults and things you need to work on.  They (not intentionally) remind me daily of things that I'm "not so good at".  It's like the good Lord saying, "see?  you say the same thing!" or "see? you do the same thing" and I love you still.  For example, my nuggets are constantly tell me things they want, like most normal kids.  Ella is now on this kick of telling me all the time what she wants for her birthday (which is in September).  I used to say, " you can't have everything you want all the time" and as soon as those words came out of my mouth I could here God saying them to me.  Clearly God gave us children so that we never stop learning, never stop caring, and never stop trying to be better people.  Now when Ella says she wants something for her birthday I say, "sure, yes, you can have it."  Because 5 minutes later, she's going to want something else!
