My Home Lately

Hello Tuesday!  Sorry it's been a few days since my last post.  I was determined to get my office painted and done for the weekend.  We had family over for the twins birthday and the front foyer had all my stuff from the office in it, so it HAD to get done!  What started out as me painting just the trim and all the molding ended up being the whole office.  The previous owner didn't do a great job on the walls, so it all needed to be done.  It's brighter and more cheery so I'm happy with the almost finished product.  I still need to finish painting a chair and the french doors.  If you've seen my Instastories you know how much a loath painting - haha!  But once I'm completely finished I'll be sure to snap some pictures.

It's been a while since I posted any home pictures so I thought I would share what I've been up to!  Since the nuggets are back in school I had a lot more time to get to my never-ending to do list.  My goal is to get my office and the kitchen painted in the next few weeks.  I'm having a get together with some girlfriends and it will be great to check this off my list.  

I've shown this space in my kitchen a lot on Instagram because I love it!  It's a perfect place in the morning to have my coffee and read my devotions.  It used to have a table in front of the chairs which I loved, but I found that I really wanted to put my feet up and relax while I sat down.  This ottoman was a perfect fit.  It wasn't too big and the price was on point.  Now it's perfect!

Another space I'm working on is the family room.  Our built-in bookshelves were completely disorganized and it was lacking seating.  Last week I organized the shelves (you may have seen my Instastories) and ordered a few chairs.  I love having people over, but there was no where to sit!  We have a great sectional from Ballard Design that we've had for years.  It's very comfortable, but it's just not enough seating.  I found these great club chairs from Wayfair that... get ready for it... recline too! :)  Wayfair is one of my favorite places to find home decor, rugs, chairs etc.  I'm a big online shopper.  I love being able to sit on my comfortable sofa and shop.  Free shipping?  What could be better??  I haven't decided if I want to paint the legs of the chairs.  They are a dark stain right now and I'm thinking of painting them with a little distressing too.  We'll see!  (Excuse my husbands messy office - real life people!)

Little by little I've been bringing in some autumn decor.  It's been close to 90 the last 4 days, so it's not feeling like fall at all.  But thank goodness by Thursday the temps are supposed to drop :)  I love these little white pumpkins in this carved bowl.  I found these cutie white pumpkins at Trader Joe's - y'all know I love my TJ's!
