SIMPLE Travel Tips

In advance, sorry for all the writing, I know we all like the snaps the most!  However, here we go!

Before I was a stay-at-home mom, I was a HR recruiter/Corporate Trainer.  I traveled frequently and came despise it.  At one point I had been in 3 different states in 2 days.  The last stop was visiting family and in the middle of the night I woke up not knowing where I was….yikers!  Now? I would give my right arm to travel and get out of my every day surroundings.  Don’t get me wrong, I love being a mom, but there are things I miss about being kidless and single (don’t tell my Hubs I said that  :)

Traveling Tips… I just have 3, I keep it simple.

Cosmetics: If you travel frequently the best thing I did for myself was invest in a good cosmetic case.  One that I kept a double of EVERYTHING I used.  This way I wouldn’t have to drag all my containers back and forth constantly.  Of course you also need all these containers in a bottle no more than 3 oz (thanks to the terrorists) if you’re traveling on an airplane.  I'm not showing a picture of this because all my cosmetics are in generic containers.

Attire: I try to remain in the same color scheme.  This way I’m not packing my entire wardrobe (although that does happen on occasion), and I can mix and match outfits depending on what I’m in the mood to wear.  This trip you’ll see I have my neutral clothes palette (which I tend to gravitate to in the fall/winter).  Unless I’m planning to travel for a long period (7-10 days) the same color scheme is what I stick to.  It makes packing easier (since now I’m packing for 3).  See my outfits below.
Look #1: sweater,  LOFT  |  fur vest, Fur Frenzy (similar here)  |  jeans, Citizens of Humanity  |  bag, Dooney & Bourke  |  booties, Target  |  travel tote, LLBean

Look #2: sweater, LOFT (sold out, but similar here)  |  jeans, Old Navy  |  bag, Dooney & Bourke  |  boots, Me Too  |  travel tote, LLBean

Look #3:  sweater, Boden  |  camo pants, Gap  |  bag, Dooney & Bourke  |  shoes, Mia  |  traqvel tote, LLBean
**currently looking for a blue oxford for under the sweater for a color pop....

Jewelry: Again, simple.  I usually stick to 2 of everything, watch, earrings, bracelets, necklaces with some exceptions. See my jewelry stash below for this trip!
Accessories:  watch, Michael Kors & Bulova (old, similar here)  |  bracelets, Loren Hope & Simply Lulu  |  earings, old (similar here)  |  wedding rings, Tacori  |  gold flower ring, Sundance (similar here)  |  necklace, Simply Lulu

What are your travel tips?
