Here are some of my "Lulu" Thoughts on Thin...
1. Eat your complex carbs before 3 pm!
2. Eat a good breakfast high in protein. I never used to be a breakfast person. However, since my metabolism has changed, I have to look at my food and diet differently. To keep my energy up, I have a high protein breakfast. Oatbran mixed with oatmeal (just 2 Tbs. of each), mixed with 1/2 cup of water & nuked 2 minutes. I mix in cinnamon (spices are great for creating flavor without calories) & Truvia. Truvia is my new love! No calories and it's the most like sugar in taste and texture.
3. Eat your veggies! If I have veggies with my lunch or dinner, I eat them first and fill up my stomach on the good low calorie, high vitamin food.
4. Eating out? Always tricky... I love food, I admit it. When I go to a restaurant everything looks good and I want it all! Here'a my thoughts... Once you get your food delivered, also ask for a to-go container. Put half your meal in the to-go and ENJOY eating the other half.
5. Walk! Walk everywhere and walk fast! It seems like I'm always in a hurry. I kind of am, but it's also a think thin trick. Walking in the mall? Walk fast. Walking from your car to the office building? Walk fast. Doing your grocery shopping? Walk & shop fast! (just don't run into anyone)... You get my drift.
6. Eat the right snacks, again, high in protein. Some of my favs: cheedar cheese & grapes sticks, greek yogurt, hummus and cucumber, and almonds for a bit of crunch. See this website, here, for more great high protein snack ideas!
7. Get yourself healthy inside! Invest in doing a vitamin study. This needs to be done by your doctor and is specific to YOUR BODY and what vitamins your body is missing and/or needs. When I had this done, I was tremendously low in my B vitamins. So much so, that my doctor gave me a B vitamin shot before leaving her office! Now that I'm taking supplemental B12 and a Bcomplex I have SO much more energy and am feeling good. Feeling good inside will help you feel better outside!
Finally, let me say that developing a healthy an approach to food is so important. Get to know your strengths and weakness, when it comes to food, to create your own "thoughts on thin"!
