Happy Friday!  The Fourth of July is special to us not just because we love celebrating America's birthday,  but the day before is my husband's birthday!  So it's a big fun weekend planned.  We have a dinner planned tonight, a BBQ on Saturday, church and swimming on Sunday.   Follow along on our fun filled weekend on Instagram!

This was not my planned "Fourth" outfit.  I had ordered a few things for this Fourth post but they didn't arrive on time for pictures.  Literally I was waiting for the UPS man last night to deliver this cute hat & scarf, but by 6:30 pm I had to quickly figure out a plan B.  So you're lookin' at it!  I'm loving this chambray skirt.  It's super comfy and perfect for summer (plus it has pockets!).  Crazy enough I've been wanting a pair of Converse sneakers for a while.  I decided on these "Shoreline" pair instead of the original.  I have very skinny feet and thought that they extra laces would make my feet look a little like Bozo the Clown.  They are great for running around town when I have a full day of errands.

I've been wanting to take snaps right here by this cute train cab.  It used to be an ice cream store, but now sadly sits all by itself on the side of the road.  I thought it was an interesting backdrop.  My husband on the other hand (Mr. Company Risk Officer) said, "I think this is private property!"  "Oh 5 minutes won't hurt" was my response.  Then when I wanted to actually get up on the train, OH my he really had a fit.  But I was jumping up before he could finish his sentence :)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend if you're here in the States celebrating the Fourth or oversees.  Relax, be happy, and spend time with loved ones.

  4. That's very nice that your husband has birthday on the 4th! Hope all goes well, I am sure dinner will be nice! Yes, people are so strange - the train is so nice, and 5 min wouldn't hurt. I remember once I saw a column full of flowers and wanted pictures there, and a security guy came shouting "it's private!" People are so touchy... I loved your outfit, especially the bag - that's my favorite color! You look very sweet and beautiful, ready for the 4th of July!

  10. Don't you hate when your orders don't come in on time!! I totally understand the frustration, but this look is totally amazing. I love the chambray skirt and that scarf is beautiful. Also love the classic white Converse sneakers, they're such a staple.
